Perform any general maintenance.Responsible for performing corrective and preventive maintenance, testing, troubleshooting, and repair on a variety of Bulk Manufacturing equipment in Building 8. Additional responsibilities may include manufacturing supports systems and equipment and office building equipment /systems.* Positional responsibilities include gas welding, operating diagnostic equipment and instrumentation, use technical measuring devices, read and interpret electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic control systems schematics / blueprints* Perform breakdown and preventive maintenance of manufacturing equipment on a regular basis to include, but not limited to tanks, pumps, centrifuges, scales, material lifts and filtration systems. May also include process chillers, MCCs, HVAC air handlers, central chillers, cooling towers, high purity water and compressed air systems, COP units and CIP systems, and equipment industrial control systems in both cGMP and non-GMP areas. Also, responsible for repairing cold storage equipment systems, refrigeration systems, building automation systems, mechanical and electrical equipment as assigned.* Must be familiar with plant and divisional SOPs as related to positional and department responsibilities.* Will provide troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair equipment and components such as pumps, piping, plumbing components, electrical controls, compressors, vacuum pumps, sanitary piping, blowers and facility equipment.* Requires familiarity with generally accepted building, plumbing, piping, electrical, and fire protection practices and codes to include NFPA, NEC, UBC, UMC, and UPC in compliance with L. A. City, Baxter EH&S and Factory Mutual requirements.* Must follow safety rules and ensure compliance with L.A. City, CA state and federal EPA regulations and laws. Specific responsible system repairs, upkeep, maintenance and operations managed within regulation agencies to include but not limited to L.A. City Building and Safety, SCAQMDM, L.A. City Bureau of Sanitation, and CAL OSHA.* Assists engineers in evaluation plans and procedures, to maintain equipment.Job Requirements Strong understanding of maintenance principal with an ability to deal with complex processes and procedures. Good troubleshooting and repair skills. Must be able to demonstrate judgment and initiative in problem resolution. Must have an aptitude to understand sound measurement practices and effectively follow written procedures to perform preventive maintenance to achieve specified set goals. Must be able to work with minimum supervision. Good communication skills and detail oriented.High school diploma with 5 or more years in equipment maintenance at journeyman level in pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
