Amazon is seeking an experienced operations manager that has the ability to manage and run large scale operations as part of the Transportation Execution platform team.The successful candidate will address opportunities that improve transportation costs, decrease delivery times, and improve customer experience. This involves building the right team, effective planning, and execution. The candidate will be able to manage complex projects, design new transportation network delivery solutions, and develop innovative projects that drive improvements in our transportation processes. This position also has both direct indirect management responsibilities.Our Senior Operations Managers are responsible for all budgetary, people development and operations objectives for one functional area of our Fulfillment Center (Inbound or Outbound). Additional responsibilities include managing and leading a team, coaching and mentoring the team to ensure performance objectives are met, building positive employee relations and building leadership bench strength.Responsibilities:* Drives creation of quality initiatives, process change initiatives and other Lean initiatives to enable their functional area and ultimately the FC to meet and exceed business plan.* Responsible for the overall safety, quality and performance and customer experience of the sort center operations* Will set and clarify requirements and expectations for Sort Center operations managers. Measures performance, provides feedback, and holds Ops Managers accountable for their performance and the performance of their departments.* Leverages the sort center operations teams by sourcing and nurturing ideas, and rolling them into the creation of improvement plans for the functional area.* Takes proactive steps to ensure that best practices are shared across all departments, shifts and among the network.* Works closely with support staff (HR, Finance, Facilities, Safety, IT, and Transportation Execution) to build and secure support and resources for projects and initiatives in their area.Basic Qualifications
