Description Summary -
Seeking a food/chemical engineer with knowledge in the areas of food science and technology.  Candidate should possess good project management skills and be able to take ownership and work independently on projects. Should be a good team player and be able to work with cross-functional teams.  Hands-on type engineering skills will be a plus for this position.<br><br>
Responsibilities -
Apply knowledge of Food Engineering and processing during RD developmental projects
Expertise in translating business objectives into strategic and tactical project goals and objectives
Plan and run production tests at manufacturing plant to develop new products or reformulate products
Proven ability to make significant technical scientific advances utilizing internal and/or external resources
Provide technical support to the plant, troubleshoot problems, and propose technical solutions.  Analyze, evaluate and document data and standards
Represent RD on cross-functional project teams and drive RD priorities
Effectively work with cross functional teams like Marketing, Sales, Manufacturing, Finance, Engineering, Quality, Process Control, etc.
Ability to partner with a wide variety of external resources, including contract manufacturers, equipment vendors and ingredient suppliers
Maintain accurate project files, formulations, specifications and product/ project data
Provide regular project status and progress reports to the management.<br><br>
Requirements<br>
Qualifications and Experience -
BS/MS in Food Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Food Science or closely related fields with emphasis on process engineering
2+ years of experience in the food processing industry preferably, in a RD/ laboratory environment
Good knowledge of physical properties and chemical composition of food and ingredients
Fundamental understanding of applied statistical analysis and working knowledge of statistical analysis programs.
Experience in the area of nuts/snacks will be a plus. Hands-on type skill is preferred.<br><br>
