We are a fast paced, high volume, facility and a leader in the paperboard industry. Mechanics and Maintenance Technicians will have strong working knowledge of pneumatics, hydraulics, PLC, and electrical/mechanical troubleshooting. A boiler license is a plus.
Maintenance team members must be self-motivated with a willingness to learn new skills under minimal supervision. Team members must also possess a sense of urgency when reacting to mechanical/electrical issues. All Northern Sheets, LLC team members are expected to follow a strong work ethic with an emphasis on safety. Excellent attendance is a requirement, no exceptions.
This position is responsible for safely performing the functions of the Mechanic / Maintenance Technician in the manufacturing of corrugated sheets.
Keep alert for all job hazards and take prompt action to eliminate work hazards and unsafe working conditions.
Comply with lock out, hot work, confined space, PPE, and all other safety procedures.
Ensure the maintenance and preventative maintenance of corrugating plant process equipment to achieve world class results.
Help to meet Site goals through proactive maintenance planning and scheduling.
Must have a working knowledge of industrial components, electronic controls, hydraulics, pneumatics, and mechanics.
Experience in conveyor/production line equipment maintenance.
Excellent mechanical/electrical troubleshooting capabilities.
Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs. for short distances.
Possess knowledge of basic computer fundamentals for industrial applications.
Knowledge of the proper use and applications of PPE.
A thorough understanding of basic lifting techniques / procedures, lock out / tag out procedures, and how to identify safety concerns.
While performing the essential duties of this position, the Team Member will be exposed to moving, mechanical parts, dusty conditions, high noise levels, internal and external temperature / weather conditions, and work from elevated platforms. Specific physical requirements include
Physical ability to work around and on industrial equipment, including frequent climbing, reaching, pulling, pushing, bending, and grasping. Standing for extended periods of time and walking an accumulative 2 miles per day.
Ability to safely lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds by utilizing only one action at a time, frequently, and unassisted.
Capable of using hand tools, power tools, measuring, and testing using instruments when necessary.
