<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>The Neuroscience Unit, Center for Health Sciences, SRI International seeks a HIV/Alcohol Project Clinical Coordinator/Manager to oversee and participate in subject recruitment, screening, scheduling, testing, and data management for a multi-faceted investigation on the effects of HIV infection and alcohol on the brain using clinical, neuropsychological, and magnetic resonance imaging MRI protocols. This individual will coordinate outreach to and liaison with staff at community HIV/AIDS and alcohol/substance abuse treatment facilities for identification and recruitment of clinical populations, oversee and participate in collection and scoring of clinical and behavioral data to ensure protocol compliance, identify missing data and errors and initiate remedial action, manage staff training and assignments to ensure efficient allocation of skilled resources against evolving study priorities, and assist in maintaining regulatory compliance including IRB approval and HIPAA training. This person will also serve as conduit of communication among investigators, research scientists, postdoctoral fellows, clinical research staff, research assistants, and data manager to ensure priorities are clearly communicated and resources are allocated appropriately across multiple ongoing projects, provide investigators with regular status reports on study progress, and assist investigators in organizing study data for grant progress reports, analysis for meeting presentations, and publications. A key feature of this position is the need to meet project deadlines set by investigators for all stages of subject recruitment, data acquisition, management and analysis. This is a full time, split position 50% employment plus full benefits with SRI International and 50% employment with the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, Stanford University. The job will require occasional flexibility concerning evening and weekend hours and will be located at SRI International The employee must comply with governmental regulations and university policies regarding Health and Safety, observe and support good Health and Safety practices.
Requirements
Graduate degree in psychology, human biology, clinical neuroscience or related area, hands-on involvement in research projects in a clinical setting, and an interest in the study of pathophysiology of alcohol addiction and HIV infection. Prior experience, organizational skills and experience in implementing complex tasks ability to work well with patients ability to understand brain imaging and neuropsychological data collection techniques, knowledge of PC and Mac based systems attention to detail and ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
