DESCRIPTION SLAC National Accelerator Laboratory is home to a two-mile linear acceleratorthe longest in the world.<br> <br>
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES including but not limited to- Consult with all stakeholders to design and document customer- and mission-focused cyber security policies, standards, and related documents.
Assist customers and stakeholders with secure system and application configuration decisions perform risk assessments and provide customer-focused security support and services
Provide guidance and support to management on all IT and cyber security issues.
Continuously monitor and analyze Department of Energy, Stanford University, or other IT- or cyber-related requirements to determine impact on organization and to ensure compliance.
Proactively create, recommend, and update policies, procedures, and practices to meet changing requirements. Review of policies will occur from departmental to Lab Director levels
Mentor other team members and peers on cyber security solutions
Perform risk and continuous monitoring assessments in conjunction with the Cyber Security Program Lead and provide related metrics and corrective action tracking and reporting
Assist the CISO in the education of staff on cyber threats and vulnerabilities, risk, and mitigation methodologies

QUALIFICATIONS Bachelors degree in computer science, information technology, or related field and a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in cyber security program management or an equivalent combination of training and extensive experience
In-depth knowledge of IT and/or cyber security standards and policies, with an emphasis on National Institute of Standards and Technology Cyber Security Standards, Guidance, and Special Publications and their application in a technical operational environment.
Demonstrated ability to build and manage stakeholder relationships, including senior management.
Excellent writing skills English with a proven ability to research and write clear and accessible policies, procedures, standards and reports for a wide range of audiences.
Excellent oral communication skills, with the ability to engage different audiences, convey complex information in a comprehensive manner, and prepare and present information and educational presentations to different audiences.
Demonstrated skill in analyzing and distilling complex requirements into actionable and understandable policy.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate continuous improvements for a technical program
Strong customer service skills are essential demonstrated interpersonal skills to collaborate with peer groups and customer groups to analyze cyber security problems and deliver results
Demonstrated ability to recognize problems in technical implementations and develop/implement innovative solutions to the problems
Demonstrated experience in leading/mentoring team members and providing technical guidance to customers and stakeholders
Desired Skills One or more quality-related, IT, or cyber security certifications e.g., CISSP, CISA, CRISC, etc.
