The company employs approximately 91,000 people and markets its products in more than 130 countries.Job Description PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION:Performs research and engineering laboratory functions involving the layout, building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing and modification of mechanical or electromechanical materials, devices, assemblies, subassemblies, systems and products.CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.1. Performs a variety of duties in the electrical, mechanical, electro-mechanical, chemical or optical areas.2. Builds or assembles prototype materials, components, subassemblies and assemblies.3. Constructs, operates, troubleshoots, calibrates, adjusts, maintains and tests equipment, systems or products.4. Works from schematics, engineering drawings, and written or verbal instructions.5. Performs tests, analyzes data and writes reports.6. Reviews or develops processing or manufacturing instructions.7. Maintains detailed documentation through all phases of development, testing and analysis.8. May assist in the transfer of technology and/or contribute in cross-functional discussions regarding device performance allegations.POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE:Plans and organizes non-routine tasks w/approval. Initiates or maintains work schedule. Establishes priorities of work assignments with management input.Solves a wide range of complex problems requiring some interpretation of defined procedures and practices. Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations.Performs complex technical assignments usually without established procedures. Assists in the design, development, evaluation or modification of all area-specific equipment, materials, systems, and/or product. May determine types of tests or develop preventative maintenance plans assignments require considerable judgment, initiative, creativity and leadership in troubleshooting, suggesting alternatives, and making recommendations for continuous quality improvement methods.Preferred qualifications:Medical device & Catheter experience preferred.May consider at lower level depending on education and experience.Education Requirements Two-year degree with 2+ years related experience or equivalent combination of education and technical work experience.
