The focus will be on Ethernet/OTN, with a secondary focus on SONET, dynamic skew, and jitter/wander testing. Experience with higher layer Ethernet protocols such as VoIP/IPTV/TCP/UDP testing would be preferred, as is experience with fiber optic production and lab testing though these areas are not the focus of this opening. This assignment will be focused on the central United States and will be designed to drive business primarily in network equipment manufacturers but may also work with telephone and cable carriers and providers, wireless customers, enterprises, and government customers. This will include being a key contributor in the creation and on-going maintenance of Strategic Account Plans, providing technical presentations to audiences of all levels and clear articulation of the potential benefits the current or potential customer may receive from the JDSU solutions. In addition to pre-sales and post-sales technical support, the field application engineer will work to identify technical enhancements with high ROI potential and work closely with Product Management to ensure a proper understanding of each request. Lastly, the field application engineer will work as a key component to all NA Sales Districts and be responsible for documenting best-practices and knowledge sharing among peers.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
