About the Agency

About the position:  Lassen Volcanic National Park is recruiting for experienced Masonry Worker LEADERS, WL-3603-08 for the Summer 2014 season.  Work is expected to start June, 2014.  These are temporary-seasonal positions and are not expected to last more than 6 months.  The park currently has FEW vacancies available.  Shared government housing may be available for rent.

 

This announcement is open to all U.S. citizens - applicants outside the Federal government may apply along with current Federal employees, and reinstatement eligibles.  Qualified veterans who apply will receive Veteran’s Preference in accordance with current law and regulations.  Consideration of selection for this position will be in the following order: 1) CTAP/ICTAP eligibles 2) rehires 3) all other applicants.

 

Area information:  Lassen Volcanic National Park is a largely undiscovered gem of the National Park Service.  Situated where the Cascade and Sierra Nevada Ranges meet, it contains a wonderful diversity of mixed conifer forests, lakes, streams, alpine fell-fields, and meadows resplendent in summer wildflowers and butterflies. Various types of extinct and dormant volcanoes dominate the landscape, as well as active hydrothermal features like steam vents and mud pots. Recreational opportunities abound, with cross-country skiing and snowshoeing in the winter, and hiking, camping, backpacking, fly-fishing, and kayaking in the summer.
