Reports directly to the Regional EHS&S Director. Collaborates with management in the design, development and implementation of Company EHS&S policies and standards in order to proactively manage safety risk, protect employees and meet regulatory responsibilities.Key Responsibilities* Provides leadership and collaborates with management in the implementation of Company EHS & Security policies, standards and training requirements. Evaluates safety, occupational health, environmental and security management performance of business operations.* Provides direction to senior management in the development and implementation of proactive safety, occupational health, environmental and systems integrity management practices to facilitate the kind and type of organization needed to effect improvements, reduce costs and enhance efficiency. * Periodically evaluates results.* Applies for and maintains all pertinent operating permits and authorizations, to include but not be limited to Fire Department, Air Quality, Transportation, Environmental, Storm Water, Waste, and Waste Water. Provides renewal applications in a timely manner to ensure there is no lapse in approval, authorization, or Permit.* Works with and advises operating managers regarding investigations and the identification of corrective measures used to achieve compliance in the areas of safety, occupational health, environmental, and systems integrity. * Assesses economics of investigative and corrective alternatives and recommends preferred action to senior management.* Designs, oversees, and physically participates in waste and emissions minimization programs to comply with corporate policy and environmental regulations. Assesses economics of waste minimization alternatives and recommends preferred action to senior management. * Responsible for overall hazardous & non-hazardous waste streams, profiles, sampling, analytical, and proper disposal. This includes satellite accumulation points, 90-day storage, 180-day storage, etc.* Ensures all employees are current with training requirements, retains training records, and provides notice to personnel of recurrent training prior to expiration to ensure continuity of business and operations.* Leads or participates in the investigative review of incidents to determine root causes and recommends necessary preventative or corrective measures.* Provides technical guidance and expertise towards ensuring that the company is in compliance with federal, state and local laws dealing with safety, occupational health, environmental and systems integrity issues. Advises appropriate personnel of the latest technical and regulatory developments.* Coordinates and conducts health, safety and environmental audits to review level of compliance with company policies and applicable regulations.* Manages and is the sole point of contact for all Workers&rsquo; Compensation claims. Claims will be reported to respective insurance carrier and the claim managed in accordance with Company policy, State regulations, and insurance carrier direction as it relates to Return-To-Work and Restricted Duty programs to aid in reducing claims costs and overall time away from work. Human Resources will approve all Light Duty Job Offers, Restricted Duty Job Offers, etc. to injured employees, with input and suggestion from EHS Manager.* Provides budget recommendations to Executive management for designated area of responsibility (including third party contracts) and tracks project completions.
