This individual will be responsible for a wide range of tasks and skills that are intended to support Ames Research Center in the area of intelligent software technology research and development. The positions encompasses management and oversight of software development research and development projects as well as Mission Operations support for Ames Research Center. This includes management of the Flight Operations Center and Multi-Mission Operations Center. The candidate must be able to multi-task and understand/facilitate/guide a variety of disciplines, including Principal Investigators. The candidate must be a self-starter, with the ability to manage, influence, and set direction of their team independently with minimal supervision. Experience with aerospace systems is a must.QinetiQ North America’s Services & Solutions Group delivers aerospace operations and systems, engineering and life-cycle management, IT solutions and services, software and systems engineering, and missions solutions. Our core offerings include: space engineering, software solutions and enterprise IT, cyber intelligence, systems integration and engineering, training, modeling and simulation, logistics and life-cycle management.Responsibilities:MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES• The selected Program Manager will oversee all aspects of a multi-million dollar contract that provides support services in the areas of Intelligent Systems and also Mission Operations services for NASA and other aerospace and aeronautics customers and projects.*Manage project task assignments from inception to completion.*Responsible for the performance of a multiple smaller programs in accordance with contract requirements and company policies, procedures and guidelines.*Oversees the technology development and/or application, marketing, and resource allocation within program client base.*Program area typically represents more than three functional areas such as engineering, systems analysis, software development, quality control and administration. Also responsible for acquiring follow-on business associated with assigned programs and for supporting new business development by leading proposals.Qualifications:QUALIFICATIONSRequires a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, and a minimum of 15 years of program management experience in addition to government sales/marketing experience. Advanced degree is desired. Requires strong aerospace systems software and Research and Development experience.
