<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>BAE Systems is seeking experienced Mechanical Engineersfor the KF-16 avionics and electronic systems upgrade program.Position Details:The selected Mechanical Engineer will perform as part of an Integrated Product Team to accomplish mechanical engineeringdesign activities for the KF-16 avionics systems upgrade program.The selected candidate reports to Program Engineering Manager or Engineering Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead for specified engineering design activities of the KF-16 Upgrade System.Provide expertise, judgment and analysis for the design, development and implementation of technical products and systems. Resolve highly complex technical issues, integration, and test. Recommend development and design alternatives to improve performance and efficiency of products and/or design procedures. Domestic and International travel may be required.Primary Duties and Responsibilities:1.Performs design activities including Group A and Group B designs related to the interface and integration of avionics - radar, navigation systems, and weapon systems - for the KF-16 program.2.Support development of System Level Concept drawings that will establish system level mechanical and functional requirements for system compatibility and interoperability analysis.3.Evaluate, analyze, and provide feedback on proposed changes for interoperability and compatibility in design/development to determine the impacts to weapon system/subsystem interface.4.Integrate changes within existing avionic system interfaces and create new interface documents as required.5.Participate in design tradeoff studies and prepare reports that identify findings of analyses and reviews.6.Apply standard engineering practices to ensure conformance with functional specifications and customer requirements.7.Establish key mechanical design requirements including thermal, weight management, and structural analysis for the following avionics areas:- F-16 Systems Management- Power Management- Radar and Radar Warning Systems- Fault Management and Diagnostics- Navigation and Display Software8.Recommends technical approaches or designs on major projects.Assists in determining project objectives to incorporate emerging technology into products.9.Prepares and presents project technical results and recommendations to IPT, Program Management, and customers. Participates in or leads formal technical reviews.10.Applies systems approach to work performed; resolves conflicts within individual subsystem areas to the benefit of total system performance, cost, and quality.11.Maintains a safe work environment and ensures compliance with safety objectives and policies.Shares responsibility of self-development with immediate supervisor.12.Performs other related duties as assigned including assisting in identifying potential new products or business as well as defining program requirements.Required Education andExperience:Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering with minimum of 4 years of related engineering experience in design, fabrication, interface definition, systems integrationEligible to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearanceAbility to create and manipulate 3D models, large complex assemblies and intricate drawings in PTC ProENGINEERProficient with Microsoft Office SuiteStrong communication skills - verbal and written.Able to effectively communicate design implementation at all levels of the project organization and between all software development teams.Ability to travel both domestically and internationally.Preferred Skills:Multilingual a plusMasters Degree in Mechanical Engineering with an emphasis on requirements definition to include Interface Control Document developmentExperience and knowledge in relevant customer domains and mission areas.
