The position of Maintenance Mechanic located in Monrovia, CA will coordinate and/or perform all plant maintenance activities including preventive, planned, and emergency maintenance. They will perform functions with outside contractors and will coordinate small engineering projects. Finally, they will assist Engineers on larger projects.
The Maintenance Mechanic will be responsible for but not limited to the following specific duties
* Coordinating or performing preventive maintenance as needed including calibration, lubrication, hoists, fire extinguishers, etc.
* Performing a variety of maintenance and repair work on plant production equipment including overhauling, adjusting, modifying, timing, and aligning of mechanical devices
* Maintaining and repairing thermal oxidizer, LFL systems, and control instruments
* Maintaining and repairing electrical equipment and systems
* Inspecting, maintaining, and repairing HVAC systems
* Maintaining and repairing general facilities including floors, windows, doors, roofs, plumbing, etc.
* Reading blue prints, schematics, drawings, and specifications
* Coordinating maintenance activities with contract maintenance firms as needed
* Coordinating small engineering projects including bid getting and evaluation, etc.
* Assisting Engineers on larger projects as needed.
* Using a variety of measurement equipment such as micrometers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, manometers, flow meters, gas analyzers, tachometers, voltmeters, ammeters, etc.
* Setting up and operating a variety of power tools including saws, knife sharpener, drills, gas and electric welders, grinders, etc.
* Maintaining tools and equipment in safe operating condition.
* Completing necessary maintenance logs, time and work records, and equipment performance data utilizing CMMS or equivalent maintenance documentation program.
This position requires working
* A fixed 1st shift
Qualified applicants will be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as a part of the selection process.
Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status e.g., H1B status
REQUIRED SKILLS
Basic/Minimum Qualifications
* High School Diploma or GED
* 5 years experience doing hands-on maintenance in a manufacturing environment
Preferred Qualifications
* Two year technical degree in a maintenance field
* 3 years PLC control systems experience
* Experience working with and calibrating/maintaining LFL Lower Flammability Limits equipment
* Safety experience in a manufacturing facility
