We defend Google''s integrity by combating spam, fraud and abuse of our products. It''s a constant game of cat-and-mouse to stay ahead of the bad guys and ensure that our advertisers, publishers and users have a safe and seamless experience. We work with Engineering to define, communicate and enforce policies across nearly all of Google''s products in over 40 languages. PQO team members use their technical know-how and work across functions to develop innovative solutions that always put the user first.The role: Ad Traffic Quality AnalystGoogle''s brand is only as strong as our users'' trust--and their steadfast belief that our guiding principles are what''s best for them. Our Product Quality Operations team has the critical responsibility of protecting Google''s users by ensuring online safety by fighting web abuse and fraud across Google products like Search, Maps, AdWords and AdSense. On this team, you''re a big-picture thinker and strategic leader. You understand the user''s point of view and are passionate about using your combined technical, sales and customer service acumen to protect our users. You work globally and cross-functionally with Google developers and Product Managers to navigate challenging online safety situations and handle abuse and fraud cases at Google speed (read: fast!). Help us prove that quality on the Internet trumps all.Responsibilities:* Analyze traffic trends, and identify new filters and flags to spot invalid click activity.* Work directly with multiple Google teams while resolving invalid click cases.* Push for policy changes by directly interfacing with Product Managers, User Interface/User Experience Engineers and other Product Specialists.* Conduct a high number of reviews (may be occasionally exposed to some adult content and other somewhat disturbing content during the process).Minimum qualifications:* BA/BS degree (In lieu of degree, 4 years relevant work experience).* Experience with one programming one or more of the following languages: Java, Perl, Python, PHP, or JavaScript.* Experience working in UNIX/Linux environments.* Knowledge of SQL and database structures.Preferred qualifications:* 1 year relevant work experience.* Experience in data analysis and report generation and a solid understanding of how the Internet works.* Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively.* Native fluency in multiple languages.* Excellent self management skills. Ability to work independently and complete projects on time.
