As a Technical Program Manager at Google, you lead complex, multi-disciplinary engineering projects using your engineering expertise. You plan requirements with internal customers and usher projects through the entire project lifecycle. This includes managing project schedules, identifying risks and clearly communicating them to project stakeholders. You''re equally at home explaining your team''s analyses and recommendations to executives as you are discussing the technical trade-offs in product development with engineers.Using your extensive technical and leadership expertise, you manage projects of various size and scope, identifying future opportunities, improving processes and driving the technical directions of your programs.The Security Program Manager (SPM) will be responsible for overseeing datacenter physical security projects related to construction, service and maintenance projects worldwide. The SPM will manage the QA/QC process of all physical security devices, systems and components installed in the datacenters. The SPM will also act as a central point of contact and coordinator between Google Security, DCPMG, construction contractors, the security integrators and other cross functional groups.Responsibilities:* Take responsibility for the overall scope, schedule, budget, quality and technical standards compliance (Security OPR) for all security related construction projects. Assist Google in developing and producing new processes and standards for project management and technical standards* Interpret security drawings for the purpose of applying company design standards* Schedule and chair a weekly Progress Review meetings to discuss the overall progress of projects. Serve on cross function team for datacenter construction projects representing the security discipline* Coordinate, assemble and manage completion of design / build documents, projected schedules and estimated budgets for all ongoing projects* Evaluate and qualify security integratorsMinimum qualifications:* BS degree in technical field. In lieu of degree, 4 years of relevant experience.* 4 years of relevant work experience managing complex, multi-group, multi-disciplinary projectsPreferred qualifications:* 6 years relevant work experience with datacenter equipment/environments, including security monitoring systems, fire safety systems, and working understanding of start up/commissioning processes* Electrical, Mechanical, Industrial Engineering, construction management, or related technical field* Experience managing vendor relationships and understanding of standard practices in the design and construction industry, including knowledge of fast track design build processes and associated documents, and contracts* Knowledge of large scale facility electrical and mechanical systems* Demonstrated skills in requirements gathering, resource organization, task prioritization, scheduling, and achieving objectives on schedule within budget* Travel to construction sites to ensure acceptable installations
