The engineer will be responsible for maintaining, evaluating, recommending and implementing improvements to the architecture of the NASA SOC network environment and tools to support the NASA SOC mission. Specific duties include but are not limited to: working closely with security personnel throughout the NASA Agency, tool developers, and operations staff to specify, integrate and implement scalable security and network architectures into the SOC; analyzing the ramifications of proposed configuration and architecture changes; and mitigating vulnerabilities, security issues, and networking issues that may arise. This position also requires approximately 15%-25% travel to other NASA centers that are within the continental US, in support of SOC infrastructure at those locations. DJAM
