Ray tracing models are used to predict how the optical power from our reflectors will be delivered to our boiler tubes. The results are used for design optimization, performance prediction and process control.* Mechanical design of the solar reflector array. We design, prototype and test solar field components, including reflectors, tracking drives, and supporting structures. Designs are optimized for performance per dollar of installed cost. Reflectors are manufactured in house by AREVA, so this team is strongly involved in the selection or even the design of manufacturing methods and equipment, in particular optical surface characterization tools. New markets for our technology are emerging with their own unique challenges and opportunities. This drives a continued assessment and adaptation of our designs for new projects. Job Description:AREVA is seeking a Lead Mechanical Engineer, Reflector Arrays for our Solar location in Mountain View, CA.Responsibilities and duties include: * Develop concepts and design components and systems individually and as part of the Mechanical Design team.* Independently analyze and troubleshoot new and existing components and systems.* Prepare or oversee final drawings and analysis reports as needed.* Develop comprehensive test plans for components and systems.* Manage proposals, designs, budgets, and execution
