Innovation and creativity are essential in this role as the desired candidate will function within a set up that includes R&D and scale up for high volume manufacturing from the ground up.Responsibilities:* Design opto-mechanical components for small size optics at small and large volumes.Minimum qualifications:* Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Optics or Physics (4 years of relevant work experience in lieu of degree)* Experience in working with a wide variety of materials including plastics* Expertise in one of the mainstream 3D Mechanical Engineering CAD software programs* 10 years experience in the opto-mechanical industryPreferred qualifications:* PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Optics or Physics* Experience in designing for consumer optics* Working knowledge of an optical design software* Experience interfacing with foundries through plastic injection molding and tool making
