PREFERRED: Qualified bilingual or multilingual candidatesJob Description: Medical Staff Services Specialists assist the Department Director in the coordination of Medical Staff activities, ensuring continuous appointment, reappointment, provisional assessments, and privileging proctoring compliance of Medical Staff and Allied Health practitioners for Hoag Hospital and its affiliates (the "Organization") and provides support to maintain compliance with State, Federal and regulatory bodies including other functions of self-governing medical staff.The Medical Staff Services Specialist displays and practices a work-style that reflects the mission, vision and values of the Medical Staff Services, as well as the Organization. Participates in the continuous quality improvement process.Maintains a working knowledge of departmental standard operating procedures, including the use of specialized instrumentation, Quality control requirements, and preventive maintenance. Coordinate retrospective proctoring: identifies charts needing to be proctored, distributes charts for review and records review in ECHO once returned. Coordinate concurrent proctoring: answers questions from the procedural areas, receives proctoring forms, and enters data into ECHO. Facilitate development of criteria for additional privilege request and/or revamping of current delineation of forms. Coordinate one year and second year provisional reviews to determine if Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations criteria have been met for advancement. Handle reappointment for Medical Staff members including mailing practitioner''s reappointment applications facilitating completion of verification analysis before forwarding to the Credentials Committee, Medical Executive Committee and Board. Participate in the OPPE and FPPE process at the direction of the Director, including distribution of charts for review, recording of discussions at meetings, and Midas input.City: Newport Beach
