reporting directly to Engineering and Operations
Management.
Required Skills/Experience
Troubleshoots electronic equipment to a
component hardware/software level, works with
equipment maker to correct problems.
Order all necessary required parts for repair of
all equipment and communicates effectively with
vendors, station management, and staff.
Must be a self-starter, able to review
discrepancy reports and address problems with
minimal supervision.
Maintains regular and predictable attendance.
Can be called to work on weekends and nights if
needed for emergency situations.
The ability to work over time if job schedules
require it.

Preferred Skills/Experience
This individual must have a sound electronics
engineering foundation and the ability to
troubleshoot and repair complex television
broadcast systems. Extensive knowledge of modern
ENG systems and a thorough understanding of ENG
field operations is a must. Also required is an
in-depth understanding of the following types of
commonly used ENG field equipment Sony XDCam and
EX series cameras and supporting recording
devices, 2 GHz microwave radio systems built by
MRC and Nucomm, Motorola commercial 2-way radio
systems and Lectrosonics wireless microphone
systems.  Additionally, the successful candidate
must have understanding and experience with the
various electro-mechanical support equipment
commonly used in ENG such as motorized cable
reels, pneumatic masts and compressed air systems,
gasoline-powered generators and safety inter-lock
systems.
IT knowledge is required, with frequent IT
department interaction.  Familiarity with the
support of computer-based, non-linear edit systems
such as Final Cut Pro or Grass Valley Edious
required. Understanding of analog and digital test
equipment to validate and troubleshoot audio and
video signals is required. Knowledge of the use of
a 2-way communications service monitor, spectrum
analyzer and network analyzer a plus.
This individual must have the ability to work
synergistically and communicate well with the
other members of the engineering staff and
supervisors. Must have knowledge of and understand
FCC rules and regulations as they govern the
broadcast industry.  Project and
supervision/coordination skills are also required.
Minimum Education LevelMasters Degree

Education Requirements
10-15 years experience as a television broadcast
engineer, or equivalent. 4-year engineering degree
or two year engineering technology ASET related to
electronics or radio and television preferred.
