<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Summary/ This position serves as the designated safety representative of the Companys safety and workers compensation programs. Responsible for coordinating, implementing and providing technical support and tactical execution for ensuring compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA and all applicable local, state and federal regulatory requirements. Must influence positive behavior and inspire commitment on the part of all personnel in complying with safety standards and maintaining a safe work environment.
Job Duties/ Analyzes work environments and designs programs to control, eliminate and prevent disease and injury by conducting safety inspections and hazard assessments. Develops safety policies, training programs and materials, tracks training requirements and certifications. Prepare, implement and maintain all safety records including training, accident and near-miss investigations, OSHA logs, permits, checklists, safety audits and walk-through reports and other documentation to ensure compliance on Safety and Workers Compensation standards and act as liaison with government agencies. Manages distribution of personal protective equipment PPE. Conducts periodic fire and emergency evacuation drills. Chairs the Safety Committee and conducts monthly meetings. Performs new hire employee safety orientation. Identify and inform management of compliance issues, safety risks and improvement opportunities through the management of daily, weekly and monthly audits. Conduct risk assessments related to jobs performed Job Hazard Analysis and new equipment introductions. Recommend appropriate risk mitigation measures to management, including ergonomic considerations, in all such efforts. Maintain accurate daily, weekly and monthly metrics reporting to onsite management teams and corporate based reporting systems. Facilitate incident investigation process. Respond and provide immediate aid for associates, visitors, vendors, or guests that need assistance, or medical attention. Responsible for coordinating the medical management of Workers Compensation cases, acquiring return-to-work documentation and coordinating modified duty strategies. Additional tasks, duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
Required/ 5+ years general Safety experience in a manufacturing environment. High School or equivalent. Bi-lingual English/Spanish. Strong communication written  oral, teamwork, analysis, judgment and customer focus skills. Strong analytical and organizational skills. Good time management and prioritization skills with ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Must be able to read, understand and interpret federal, state and local regulations, Material Data Safety Sheets MSDS and other complex documents. Experienced in emergency response and able to maintain current First Aid, CPR, and AED certificates. Ability to analyze accident data, new processes, and machinery for potential safety concerns and conduct job hazard and job safety analysis. Experience with OSHA regulations specifically 29 CFR 1910. Able to maintain confidentiality in matters involving security and/or personnel issues. Experience in Workers Compensation case management, laws, rules and regulations. Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office products including Word, Excel  PowerPoint. Ability to build and maintain professional business relationships both internally and externally.
Preferred/ Bachelors degree in Occupational Health  Safety, Industrial Hygiene or similar discipline. Prior experience in the Health  Beauty or Cosmetics industries. Certified Safety Professional.
