JOB SUMMARY:

<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Busy PMR practice based in Novato, California, is looking for a NP to assist with workers compensation individuals. The individual must be able to work independently and coordinate with physician regarding patient care. A strong knowledge base of the psychological aspect of Pain Management is a must.Duties:Obtain, compile and record patient medical data, including health history, progress notes and results of physical examination. The NP must hold a current DEA license. Experience in Pain Management including the use and prescribing of controlled substances, controlling chronic pain using multiple medications, and psychological therapies. Patient Involvement is an essential partof the treatment plan. Knowledge of ordering diagnostic tests, such as x-ray, mri, emg/ncs, appealing to UR, and laboratory tests. Interpret diagnostic test results for deviations from normal. Make tentative diagnoses and decisions about management and treatment of patients. A working knowledge of Word is an added plus. The NP will meet with the managing physician on a daily basis to discuss treatments, patient progress and future patient goals.
