An important part of Union Bank's risk management function, Credit Risk Specialists are responsible for investigating, evaluating and reporting qualitative, non-financial information collected on current and prospective Commercial Credit borrowers.Major Responsibilities:Research and analyze public records, to include adverse information such as tax liens, judgments, bankruptcies, civil and criminal court records, as well as other publicly accessible information (35%);Organize supporting documentation (15%);Construct concise written analyses of findings (20%);Interact with lines-of-business partners to satisfy additional credit due diligence requirements (20%);* Typically requires an Associate's Degree as well as a minimum of 3 years experience in bank operations, commercial lending, credit administration, paralegal services or a related field. * Strong written and verbal communication skills;* Familiarity with web-based research techniques and public records databases, e.g. LexisNexis, Westlaw;* General understanding of credit lending and legal process;* Ability to manage multiple cases and/or tasks simultaneously;* Adapt quickly to changes in policy or the credit risk environment;* Ability to effectively work independently, without constant supervision;* Comfort working under time constraints or deadlines;* Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications as well as web-based research techniquesPreferredBachelors Degree in related field of studyParalegal certificateExperience in legal research or credit due diligenceUnion Bank is committed to leveraging the diverse backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences of our workforce to create opportunities for our people and our business.
