Five (5) years experience in law enforcement or corporate security. Knowledge of CCTV and other security hardware devices. Ability to successfully complete required training programs. Must be bondable and qualify for a commission as a law enforcement/private officer with the city of Memphis, Shelby County and state of Tennessee or other duty stations local requirements. Strong basic management, human relations and communication skills.Selects, trains, develops, and motivates a staff of 8-25 officers and provides supervision to contract guards; assists in the administration of an annual operating budget of $1.5mm.Ensures and oversees the appropriate response to all emergency and crisis situations on a 7 day/24 hour basis.Provides for the control of entry and exit to the air operations and other secured areas.Provides physical protection services for participants in the executive protection program as required.Supervises the planned operation of detection devices, metal detectors, CCTV''s and other security hardware devices in use by the corporation.Ensures appropriate patrols of the air operations complex and all other base locations to prevent theft, vandalism and unauthorized access to FedEx property; participates in investigations as required.Coordinates activities with local police, sheriff and airport departmentsMonitors and evaluates performance of contract and non-permanent guard force to ensure that the contract service conforms to contract standards.Assists in the development and implementation of policies relative to the FedEx security department.Directs officers in how to handle situations - arrest or not to arrest, and evidence report writing, etc.Makes arrests, prepares cases and attends court hearings as required.Provides "back-up" support to airport and other law enforcement agencies as necessary.
