Activities include monitoring and trend analysis, project planning and execution, process analysis and Cisco equipment life cycle management.This role will require travel and 7x24 on-call support responsibilities.*This position is located in Oakland, CAPRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:Infrastructure support'' Configure, install, and maintain necessary hardware and software for LAN/WAN hardware/software to provide a suitable environment to run production applications and to perform development'' Perform maintenance and release upgrades on a timely basis or as needed;'' Monitor performance and availability of LAN/WAN platforms'' Implement network architectures, including LAN-to-WAN, LAN-to-LAN, and WAN-to-WAN communications'' Monitor, control, and recommend improvements to infrastructure performance in the areas of response, throughput, and availability; identified trends, root cause analysis, and prevention'' Maintain network diagrams and documentation, including procedures for LAN/WAN administration'' Identify, recommend, and manage network infrastructure support tools, ie., Orion, CiscoWorks, WLSE, packet capture etc.'' Administer IP Address assignments'' Maintain spares inventory at selected locations (includes inventory, maintenance contract management)'' Adhere to established networking policies, procedures, and best practices'' Prepare and manage cabling and network connections'' Work with remote ITC to manage UPS and network hardware lifecycle'' Catalogue and develop knowledge-base content for department-specific, network-dependent applications; seek out insight and on-the-job training and other internal and external resources, and document key learnings.Production Support'' Provide technology support (7x24, on-call rotation basis), troubleshoot and provide solutions to hardware/software problems:o Review assigned service requests dailyo Manage incidents according to incident priority framework and provide status updates to business; escalation to management'' Manage 3rd-party service providers'' Coordinate site network support activities with remote ITCs'' Meet or exceed SLOs to minimize client productivity loss caused by technology outages,'' Support and contribute to Business Continuity Plans for market, region, and zone.Project Supporto Contribute as Network SME on selected business projectso Lead the effort in designing and implementing cost-effective and efficient network solutionso Evaluate LAN/WAN communications and routing productso Develop implementation and test planso Adhere to Project Management best practices for managing timelines, status communications, scope, and budget.REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education:High School DiplomaExperience: (Years/Type)Minimum of 5 years experience in network design and implementationAvailable for 7x24 on call supportAvailable to travel 20% both domestic and internationalSkills:CCNP, CNE, CNE/NT, CNA or current enrollment preferred'' Independent worker'' Self, time-management'' Service oriented'' Strong communication skills, writing/verbal'' Flexibility and ability to work in ambiguous and changing environment'' Ability to keep abreast of technical aspects of the PC-LAN/WAN computing environment'' Works well in a team environment'' Analytical skills, interpreting complex business requirements
