VICE PRESIDENT OF FLEET MAINTENANCE FACILITIES NORTH WEST

JOB SUMMARY:

Provides leadership in Fleet Maintenance to DOM,
RVPs and GMS.
Focus on analysis for ongoing improvement of all
maintenance requirements and procedures.
Oversees hiring, training and development and
supervision of maintenance staff.
Ensures safety regulations are being observed and
all methods are adequate, up to date, adhered to,
and effective.
Provides counseling and employee development.
Ensures quality customer satisfaction to include
safety and operations personnel, client and public
relations.
Ensures the delivery of service within client and
company operational guidelines and that policies,
procedures and regulations are enforced.
Direct over sight of 3 Area Directors of
Maintenance and their direct staff.
Ensures facility maintenance and facility audits
are completed to meet company requirements.
Oversees the maintenance program for approximately
60 Company locations.
Responsible for all the maintenance related tasks
on assigned contract start-ups to include the
placement of qualified maintenance staff, vehicle
inspections, maintenance equipment, extensive
budgeting and bid pricing as well as cost and
facility improvements.
The candidate will be required to assist with new
business development as it relates to new
maintenance locations and the related costs.
Requirements
To be considered, you must possess bus transit
experience. Other requirements include
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
Strong leadership, analytical and communication
skills required.
Must have a minimum of 10+ years comprehensive
experience as a Fleet Manager and a combination of
15 years or general vehicle maintenance
experience including diesel and alternative
fuels.
Extensive regulatory knowledge and vendor,
procurement and warranty processes.
Experience with managing a multi-site team.
Experience with alternative fuels, facility
construction or rehab is highly desirable.
Must know CHP  DOT regulations.
Must have extensive knowledge of Federal and State
EPA regulations.
Candidates for this position must possess the
following
A thorough knowledge of mechanical maintenance and
repair methods and practices.
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, and direct
highly varied and complex operations related to
vehicle and equipment services
Ability to review specifications for new equipment
acquisition
Ability to do bid model pricing, ability to
schedule time and work load effectively.
Ability to maintain effective working
relationships with Executive team, co-workers,
subordinate employees, operations, office, and
client agency and parts equipment suppliers.
Additional Requirements
Extensive travel is required for this position
75% or more.
Experience with alternative fuels a must.
