<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Substance Abuse Counselor - Orange County, CAOrange County,CAThe Substance Abuse Counselor is responsible for the provision of clinical services to clients and their families, and for developing treatment plans and ongoing clinical documentation in the clinical management system.Performs primary counselor duties to clients and their families including screening and intake, psychosocial assessments; client and family orientation, development of treatment plans; crisis intervention; group, individual, family and didactic sessions; discharge summary and planning; case management and coordination of treatment services with probation, school and other referral sources. Multi-lingual counselors may be asked to provide services in multiple languages to meet the needs of the clients and families.Responsible for timely and accurate completion of client notes, charts, reports, and other documentation related to the treatment and progress of clients in the program. These reports include but are not limited to individual and weekly progress notes, documentation of attendance and participation in-group, didactics and family sessions. Documentation may include Wellegent web-based, electronic and/or paper documents.Develop positive workplace relationships in accordance with Phoenix House Policy and Procedures with staff and peers by offering appropriate support within a nurturing environment while maintaining a high level of professionalism.Employee shall be in compliance with ADP requirements for alcohol and drug abuse counselor certification. Persons not in possession of substance abuse counselor certification must register within first 6 months of employment.Must possess and maintain a valid California Drivers license and a driving record that allows for operation of company vehicles.Must meet federal, state and local Criminal Clearance and Child Abuse Indexing requirements.Applicant must be either a U.S. Citizen or have the legal right to work in the Untied States.AA or higher degree in Behavioral Science (preferred);  High school diploma or equivalence (required);  2-3 years progressive experience providing or coordinating social services, preferably within a drug or alcohol treatment setting or transitional housing environment.Computer literate; demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and Welligent web-based applications.Good organization skills.Ability to work evenings and weekends.Bilingual Spanish preferred.
