JOB SUMMARY:

Investigates conditions and loss experience to
identify risks or exposure. Communicates risks and
develops plan of action for correction.
Ensures accuracy in OSHA recordkeeping for the
area Service Centers to avoid legal actions and
fines.
Reviews and implements area safety practices that
conform to regional and company safety policies.
Coaches managers, supervisors and employees on
safety policy requirements and implementation.
Conducts employee training on safety procedures
relating to specialized work assignments.
Coordinates area injury, accident and fire
prevention programs to ensure compliance with all
regulations and standards.
Reviews employee complaints and suggestions
related to safety for input on conditions at the
service center level.
Provides training to managers, staff and employees
on safety policies, hazard identification,
elimination and avoidance.
Conducts safety audits of area service centers as
well as job site visits to check the effectiveness
of safety policy at the point of contact with
public and work hazards. Observes fleet while on
highways to check safety effectiveness. Reviews
and promotes the maintenance of a safe, accident-
free and healthy work environment.
Develops innovative or improved methods of loss
control to include employee selection, training
and accountability, particularly to address local
needs and conditions.
Ensures claims handling requirements are met,
including claims reporting, post-accident drug
testing and OSHA recordkeeping.
Maintains data and performs record management by
creating folders, filing and updating information.
Observes all safety and Company rules and
regulations in the performance of duties.
Other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE
An Associate degree in occupational safety and
health or 5-7 years of safety and/or risk
management experience in a service industry
required preferred. Safety certification is
preferred. A working knowledge of OSHA
compliance, fleet safety, fire safety, labor law
and employee relations is preferred.
Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft
Office products required. Must be able to create
and interpret spreadsheets and operate general
office machines. Strong communication and training
delivery skills are required. A valid drivers
license is required.
