The Patient Care Technician works under the direct supervision of the Patient Care Supervisor.Note:As a new position, the roles and responsibilities may evolve and may include additional or alternative duties.Responsibilities:* Utilizing information system(s), enters patient requests and information into system; also accurately enters patient demographic information and orders into the information system, while verifying patient information; once provided, collects applicable payment for wellness service(s) from patient* Ensures equipment and hardware is maintained and responds immediately to service interruptions and/or concerns to ensure satisfactory recovery* Troubleshoots issues with patient requests and information* Performs cash control process according to policies and procedures* Performs a variety of routine patient care services under appropriate supervisor* Performs simple and routine medical tasks and procedures including specimencollection* Interacts with all Wellness Center patients courteously and professionally* Maintains high cleanliness standards of the Wellness Center at all times* Observes all Wellness Center safety, compliance and other established regulations and policies* Exercises discretion and confidentiality with all patient informationRequirements:* High School Diploma or GED required* Must be a Certified Phlebotomy Technician, specifically possession of a current, valid Phlebotomist Certificate (CPT-1 or CPT-2) issued by the State of California* Previous Healthcare experience preferred in positions such as Medical Assistant, Medical or Patient Care Technician, Nurse Assistant/Aid, CPT, EMT, Military Medic, or Pharmacy Technician* Demonstrated patient relations skills including meeting/exceeding patient needs and maintain a superior patient service environment* High degree of initiative and problem solving skills* Working knowledge of computer programs (email, Word, Excel)* Demonstrates sound business ethics and compliance* Repetitive standing, bending, stooping, kneeling, lifting, stretching, and reaching* Ability to work varied schedules including weekends, evenings and holiday shifts to meet business needsSafeway is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer (MFDV) and welcomes diverse talent and backgrounds.
