Job Responsibilities The Escrow Officer is responsible to oversee the daily activities in the branch. This would include taking the incoming escrow from beginning to its conclusion and everything in between. Take over the desk of the manager or the officer and/or the assistant. Follow the notes or the direction from the manager or the assistant. Leave clear notes on all the files as to the work that was done in the absence of the person he/she was covering for. Responsible for opening up new escrows and entering them in iClosings, and typing Escrow Instructions. This also includes receipting in buyers deposit, making calls to the buyer and seller for introductions, corresponding agents, reviewing the initial contract. faxing out the escrow instructions, reviewed and edited, to the agents for approval. Update all reports under status reports keep in contact w/agent and give weekly report as to the progress of the transaction keep track of the status on all the aspects of the file. Prepare file for funding check w/lender to see the status of the loan, which will affect closing date balance and close file. Perform a Double audit on the file Lead Assistant or other officer to always review the figures before file is completely balanced and disbursed. Sign off on check/file ledger after file is balanced print the checks and closing statements after the audit disburse checks to appropriate parties, or delegate to assistant or processor to perform. Communicate to all parties when the file has closed, and again when the funds are being disbursed. Contact CB managers and sales associates that are part of the transactions keep them apprised of all that is going on with the file make sure the officer is aware of any contacts you make and keep a record of anything regarding the transactions on the file. Resolve any issue that may come up regarding the service that escrow is providing and make the experience a better one. Maintain the office standards.
Job Requirements
HSD or equivalent. 4 years Sale Escrow Officer experience. Valid CA Drivers License.
Certified Escrow Officer preferred. Ability to comprehend and write instructions, correspondence, and memos proper punctuation, spelling, grammar a must. Excellent verbal/written skills along with strong interpersonal skills are required. Ability to deliver superior customer service. Must have high level of organization and strong attention to detail. Must have ability to consistently meet deadlines, demonstrate strong follow through, and to follow departmental procedures.
Responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of related Company business. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to other employees of the department. Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, high volume, deadline-oriented environment. Palm Desert/Palm Springs/Indiana Wells area.
