JOB SUMMARY:

<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES
This position is responsible for providing
flightline and ground support to include but not
limited to towing, refueling, defueling, and
launch and recovery of aircraft. Individual
provides technical assistance in mechanical and
inspection work as required. Essential Functions
Works under close supervision of an AP Specialist
II or higher to accomplish the following tasks
- Assist in the performance of scheduled
and unscheduled maintenance.
- Assist in the inspection of airframe,
powerplant, and propeller components at regular
intervals as per company approved procedures
and/or government technical order requirements.
- Assist in the repair of fuel leaks, oil
leaks, and engine problems assist in the removal
and replacement of airframe components.
- Perform all launch and recovery tasks
of aircraft to include ground operations,
preflight items, ground observer responsibilities,
and post flight items.
- Participate in the performance of
engine and airframe operational checks and
installation of payloads.
- Participate in the performance of
Acceptance Test Procedures ATP in accordance
with company and customer guidelines.
- Test, maintain, and operate ground
support equipment.
- Responsible for observing all laws,
regulations and other applicable obligations
wherever and whenever business is conducted on
behalf of the Company. Expected to work in a safe
manner in accordance with established operating
procedures and practices.
- Other duties as assigned or required.
RequirementsMINIMUM
QUALIFICATIONS
Typically requires a High School diploma or
equivalent. Typically incumbent has little or no
knowledge of job requirements and moderate
understanding of general job aspects. Must
possess
1 ability to travel six to eight 6-8 months
per year 2 ability to obtain and maintain a DOD
security clearance is required 3 general
working knowledge of hand tools and precision
measuring equipment and 4 basic interpersonal
skills to effectively communicate with employees
and military and civilian customers. Ability to
work both independently and in a team is essential
as is the ability to work extended hours as
required.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
FAA Airframe Powerplant License. Military
maintenance training. Experience in aircraft or
automotive research and development.
