Must have basic knowledge of composites fabrication as it relates to structural modification.Must have a minimum of two years of experience in aircraft assembly and installation.Specific Job Description PERFORMS SUCH TYPICAL DISTINGUISHING DUTIES AS:Determines methods and sequence of modifications, disassembles, assembles, makes locations, installs and mates completely various types of products, assemblies and installations, where complete information is not readily available, operational sequences change or vary considerably, and tooling is inadequate or not provided; lays out for and locates to all reference points, and secures coordination of assemblies in modifying metallic and nonmetallic structures and installations, including all rework, pickup and incorporation of design and modification changes working to station, water, center, butt and chord lines shown in engineering documents; performs all assembly operations such as pickup and rework on metallic and nonmetallic structures and installations requiring reforming, recontouring or refitting; performs the final sealing and pressurization of modified structures and installations on incomplete or complete products which materially alter previous assembly reference and sequences; assembles complete, installs and connects and services power plants, accessories and functional units, where it is required to exercise a knowledge of power plant assembly, rigging, final assembly, composites, installation, servicing and conversion method and techniques.Must possess certifications required by the Company. Must possess a knowledge of or have completed training in Blueprint II, repair technology, operation of ground support equipment, and principles of operation of aircraft systems. Must have basic knowledge of composites fabrication as it relates to structural modification.Must have a minimum of two years of experience in aircraft assembly and installation.PERFORMS SUCH RELATED DUTIES AS:Installs shortages, incorporates design or modification changes in metallic andnonmetallic structure, functional systems, power plants, components and accessories; makes adjustments, synchronizations, alternations, repairs, corrections, and replacements as required.Collaborates with authorized Company, customer and/or vendor liaison personnel in correcting malfunctioning items.Works with blueprints, diagrams, sketches, service bulletins, maintenance manuals and technical orders.Hooks up and operates all types of ground support equipment.Cures sealants using hot air, heat blankets, lamps and other curing methods.Repairs components of precision functional assemblies such as valves, cylinders and pumps; disassembles, replaces and realigns parts, adjusts to appropriate settings, retorques fittings, reassembles and functionally tests completed power plant units as required prior to transfer of aircraft to the flight line.Performs bonding operations in the assembly of composite parts.Performs final finishing, grinding, and polishing of parts as required.Drills, reams and countersinks holes and installs fasteners as required.Processes engines for short or long term storage and maintains them to applicable specifications.Performs sealing and other rework operations on major structures.
