Working in tandem, these two functionalities reduce IT complexity and cost, both within VMware and for its customers.Job Description The VMware Information Security team focuses on ensuring implementation of systems and processes aimed at effectively securing VMware''s information, infrastructure and intellectual property and users. Additionally, the team provides internal security consultancy focused on providing relevant information to internal and external customers, suppliers, and partners.This position is responsible for:- Intrusion Monitoring (IDS/HIDS)- Incident First Response- Firewall and Content Filter Rule Review and Analysis- Antivirus Policy- Threat Analysis- Providing support and assistance during internal and external audits- Training and evangelizing information security to Executive leaders, Engineers and Users.Required skills and experience:- 3-5 years of Linux/Unix Experience- 1-2 years of Technical Security Experience- Knowledge of all aspects of information security with in understanding of firewalls, IDS, HIDS, Content Filtering, Network hardening, Packet Inspection, and SEIM tools.- General knowledge of Cloud Computing environments and security issues related to those environments- Working effectively in a team environment- Strong written and verbal communications- Ability to prioritize projects and deliverablesDesired skills/experience/certification:- Scripting skills (One or more Java, Perl, Ruby, Python)- Security certifications: GCIH, GIAC- System Security (OS Hardening, etc.)- Vulnerability ManagementLocation Palo Alto, CA, USIs this a remote or multiple location position?
