This provides excellent opportunities to learn the many aspects of the business and a great opportunity to work on a wide breadth of interesting and challenging matters with other highly motivated, top-performing professionals, at a fun, dynamic and fast paced company - VMware, Inc.The successful candidate will aAssume primary responsibility for maintaining our in-house patent docket database, including receiving incoming domestic and foreign communications, entering docketing data into the docket database, tracking domestic and foreign deadlines, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of the data in the docket database. This position also involves some patent prosecution support and other administrative support. The successful candidate will work closely with other administrators and attorneys on the IP team. This role requires independence and team-work; self-initiative and self-reliance; efficiency, multi-tasking and organization; and, above all else, a high-level of accuracy and attention to detail.Responsibilities1. Process incoming domestic and foreign Office Actions and other correspondence, update and maintain patent docket database (currently Foundation IP), including reconciling data with PAIR.2. Maintain back-up calendar of due dates, review weekly dockets and remind practitioners of upcoming deadlines.3. Process invention disclosures as received and track associated public disclosure deadlines; Manage inventor accounts and terminate access as needed.4. Review and advise on docket database releases and updates; Drive troubleshooting of docket database bugs with docket provider.5. Coordinate with annuity payment provider to oversee payment of maintenance fees and annuities.6. Provide back-up support for preparing and interpreting patent data reports generated from docket database.7. Assist with patent prosecution projects, including but not limited to preparation and filing of Information Disclosure Statements and Response to Missing Parts.8. Provide general administrative support, as needed.Requirements:1. Minimum of 5 years of patent docket experience preferred.2. Proficiency with Foundation IP FIP" or other patent docket system, MS Word, and Excel.3. Detailed and advanced knowledge of USPTO procedures and
