Working in tandem, these two functionalities reduce IT complexity and cost, both within VMware and for its customers.Job Description Job DescriptionThe VMware Information Security team focuses on ensuring implementation of systems and processes aimed at effectively securing VMware''s information, infrastructure, intellectual property and users. Additionally, the team provides internal security consulting services focused on providing relevant information to internal and external customers, suppliers, and partners.This position is responsible for:- Providing leadership and support to the Information Security team through the delivery of crucial initiatives as part of the Information Security Strategy- Authoring and updating information security policies and standards- Designing and implementing information security controls that ensure security risks are properly addressed- Deep understanding and experience of implementing security into a complex, dynamic technology environment- Conducting scans, reviews, assessments and penetration tests to ensure controls are operating as expected- Maintaining awareness of existing and emerging threats, assessing risks, and modifying control structure as required- Providing support and assistance during internal and external audits- Comfortable assuming a role representing the VMware Information Security team with customers, partners and Executives- Training and evangelizing information security to Executive leaders, Engineers and Users.- Responding to Security IncidentsRequired skills and experience:- 5 - 7 years of Technical Security experience- Broad knowledge of all aspects of information security with in depth understanding of firewalls, IDS, VPN, HIDS, Network element hardening, implementing/maintaining SEIM tools, Authentication technologies, Linux, Cisco, JunOS- General knowledge of Cloud Computing environments and security issues related to that environment- In depth experience in designing, managing and/or assessing complex IT infrastructures- Working effectively in a team environment- Strong written and verbal communications- Ability to prioritize projects and deliverables- Excellent Presentation & Training SkillsDesired skills/experience/certification:- Scripting skills (Java, Perl, Ruby, Python, C/C++)- Network certifications: CCNP, CCIE- Security certifications: CISSP, GIAC- System Security (OS Hardening, etc.)- Vulnerability ManagementLocation Palo Alto, CA, USIs this a remote or multiple location position?
