We believe our operational infrastructure provides us with a competitive advantage compared to traditional automobile manufacturers.The RoleThe Tesla Motors Powertrain Test Lab is responsible for verifying the thermal, electrical and mechanical durability of components and systems throughout Tesla vehicles and powertrains, in collaboration with design engineers and other test labs. We are seeking a multi-faceted, senior Mechanical Test Engineer who will be responsible for all aspects of executing, monitoring and reporting on electric vehicle components in our Powertrain Test Lab.Responsibilities· overseeing the set-up and execution of thermal and electrical validation test Manage mechanical vibration table and vehicle chamber lab · Coordinating test demands to meet the needs of multiple teams and programs· Collecting and interpreting data from a variety of acquisition systems· Analyzing test data and writing test reports· Designing and improving mechanical and electrical equipment and infrastructure in the lab· Performing hands-on tasks to complete the jobRequirements· Low-voltage electrical systems (AC and DC)· High Voltage Battery Systems· LabVIEW, Matlab, Python, SQL· CAN communications protocol Thermodynamics and heat transfer· Instrumentation and data acquisition design and troubleshooting· Coordination and scheduling between multiple disciplines and project teams· BS Electrical or Mechanical Engineering· 5+ years of industry experience in automotive, aerospace, or consumer product testingTesla Motors is committed to a policy of equal employment opportunity.
