<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>The California Institute of Technology is in the process of introducing a comprehensive Total Rewards program within Human Resources. The Senior Total Rewards Specialist for Compensation will be part of a dynamic newly formed Total Rewards team. The Institute is interested in hiring an individual who will play a key role in exploring innovative compensation programs that support the recruitment and retention of top talent. This position will also be instrumental in providing resources and guidance to supervisors and managers on compensation as it relates to existing and new compensation programs and Total Rewards. We are seeking a bright, committed and engaged compensation professional to help us build a successful Total Rewards program. -Provides consultation to supervisors and managers regarding salary ranges, hiring rates and salary administration guidelines, which may require reviewing campus equity, market comparisons, job descriptions and experience and educational requirements.-Has key role in the daily administration of compensation programs - including job evaluation, the application of salary ranges, the application of internal compensation policies and FLSA determination.-Conducts job audits and analysis, and determines job classification based upon compensation factors, survey data and/or job evaluation system.-Develops and writes job descriptions to accurately capture and reflect the key components and deliverables of a particular position.-Reviews and approves personnel requisitions for appropriate job descriptions, classification and salary levelCoordinates and oversees the development and collection of Executive Compensation data in support of the Trustees'' Executive Compensation Committee and Institute senior management.-Participates in and/or leads various projects and initiatives, including the initiative to implement a total rewards philosophy; performs special projects and management studies and develops recommendations.-Assists in the preparation of employee communication materials related to compensation and total rewards Applies Fair Labor Standards Act regulations to determine exempt/non-exempt designation of a job; consults with supervisors and managers in the area of overtime and competitive pay.-In partnership with Employee and Organizational Development, provides guidance to Institute management regarding the design, documentation and implementation of various department reorganization plans.-Provides guidance and assistance to departments and divisions regarding Institute policies and procedures that address staff work schedules - including guiding work groups through the establishment, review and documentation of alternative work arrangements to ensure applicable statutes and regulations are met.-Coordinates and oversees the participation, collection and distribution of a broad range of salary surveys and survey results to identify trends and their application to the California Institute of Technology; updates and publishes revised salary market data for all job families.-Completes statistical analysis of salary data (internal and external) through the use of information systems software (Pay Modeler) and the application of relevant data to ensure competitiveness in the marketplace.-Performs high-level statistical analysis; creates complex management reports using Oracle HRMS and other software in the area of compensation trends; partners with IMSS staff to implement and enhance Oracle HRMS system tools and modules. -Plays a key role in the annual salary increase process and oversees the compensation management system (Oracle Compensation Workbench).- Other duties as assigned.
