<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Title: CODING SUPERVISOR/CLINICAL DOC SPECIALIST - HEALH INFO (8 Hour Day - full time)Location: CA-PlacentiaOther Locations: Position provides oversight for the coding area ensuring coding quality and productivity standards are met. Assist HIS Director with managing DNFB. Conduct quarterly coding reviews of hospital coding staff. Provides concurrent and retrospective reviews ofinpatient medical records to evaluate the documentation and utilization of acute care services. Includes facilitation of appropriate physician documentation of care to accurately reflect patient severity of illness and risk of mortality. Will play a significant role in obtaining accurate and compliant reimbursement for acute care services and in reporting quality of care outcomes.* Ability to read, write, and speak English. * Ability to multitask, to communicate and coordinate effectively with healthcare team. * Excellent interpersonal skills to build effective partnering relationships with Physicians, Nursing Staff, and Coding Staff. * Strong leadership skills and the ability to delegate control, and review work assignments of coding staff. * Thorough working knowledge of ICD9, CPT, and DRG coding principles. * Knowledge of use of encoder software, anatomy and physiology, medical terminology and disease process. * Working knowledge of inpatient admission criteria and Medicare reimbursement system.* Registered Health Information Administrator/ Registered Health Information Technician/Certified Coding Specialist.* Certification from an AHIMA approved program required. * Minimum of 3 years acute care coding experience.* If working towards certification, must have successful certification within 2 years of hire date.
