Maintains excellent public relations by interacting with patients, visitors, physicians and other staff members in a friendly and professional manner and functions as a patient advocate at all times. In addition, the NP/Director works in a leadership role and is accountable for the clinical nursing, operational and human resources aspects of the clinic. Ensures compliance with local, state and federal requirements and Joint Commission standards as they apply to Hematology and Oncology services and the Oncology Infusion Center. Ensures the safe handling of chemotherapy medications and infectious material(s), to ensure patient and staff safety at all times.Requirements: Current CA RN license; MS in Nursing; Current Certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP). Must have 2 years of inpatient or outpatient oncology experience in an RN or NP role and 1 year of previous experience in the delivery of chemotherapy medication. Must have extensive knowledge of physical assessment, differential diagnosis, pathophysiology, pharmacology and management of oncology and administration of chemotherapy; excellent understanding of medical office, patient and informational flow; knowledge of Joint Commission standards; scope of practice for MAs. LVNs, RNs, PAs and NPs; extensive understanding of clinical relationships and roles in the medical office; financial clinical management experience; leadership, integrity, communication and interpersonal skills; high level of analytic ability, attn to detail and critical thinking skills; superior customer relations skills; superior HR and conflict management skills; excellent written and verbal skills; ability to use supervisory principles and successful at creation of policies & procedures and skilled in use of Microsoft Word and Excel programs.Strongly Preferred: Oncology Certified Nurse OCN (Certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center must be obtained within 12 months of employment. Must apply for, be awarded and maintain privileges as an Allied Health Professional in accordance with Bylaws, Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff of MMC), 3-5 years of prior management experience and past experience with an Oncology EMR system.Requires:A current CA Driver''s License, a clean DMV printout and proof of automobile insurance coverage in an amount not less than $50,000 per person/$100,000 per occurrence (or a combined single limit of $100,000) and property damage coverage in amount not less than $50,000 per occurrence, prior to interview.
