Use 3D CAD system (preferably SolidWorks experience) to design robot mechanical components and generate release drawings.2. Use document control system (Agile) to generate Bills of Material, ECO's, source control and other release documents.3. Perform cost analyses on components in development including manufactured costing.4. Select purchased components to be included in product design by analysis of specifications and testing.5. Standard strength of material calculations, FEA, motion analysis, and vibrational analysis to qualify designs.6. Work closely with fabrication suppliers (including machining, casting, molding, etc.) to develop product components.7. Work as a project team member to insure product development on schedule with desired quality and cost.Expected Accomplishments:1. Mechanical system design including robots and support systems2. Cost reduction of existing products through design, tooling, and fabrication changes.3. ECO release drawings using SolidWorks and AGILE.4. Fully document design verification and compliance tests (Word, Excel).5. Support release of User and Service Manual Documentation.Functional Relationships:He/she will report to the Mechanical Engineering Manager. Must be capable of working in a team environment with other mechanical, electrical, servo engineers and technicians, Will work with Applications engineers and AME.QUALIFICATIONS:Required:Extensive 3D CAD experience, SolidWorks or equivalent, mechanical design experience of moving mechanical systemsDesirable:Machine shop capability (certified Journeyman a plus), Experience working with precision mechanical assemblies. Experience with fabricatiion process for metal casting and plastic molding parts. Working knowledge of electronics is also desired. Experience with FEA programs, Matlab, other analysis programs.Technical Skills:Precision inspection capabilityOTHER:3D CAD, capability with inspection/measuring tools, working capability with test instrumentationEDUCATION:BS or MS Mechanical Engineering or related experience
