The Equipment Operator is responsible for the use and operation of heavy construction equipment such as D-8 Sag Cats, Puller and tensioner equipment, while working with conductor installation crews on long – linear 230 kV through 500 kV transmission line projects for Henkels & McCoy PEI/Henkels & McCoy Inc. This position is union with a pay scale of $44.34 per hour for qualified applicants. Major Job Elements:* Position may involve performing other duties as required, which may not be mentioned below. Specific functions may change from time to time.* Experience in setting up puller and tensioning equipment at designated pulling location.* Coordinate machine actions with other activities, positioning or moving loads and conductor in response to hand or audio signals from crew members.* Must be able to quickly and repeatedly adjust controls of machine to exact positions as necessary.* Learn, follow, and promote all safety regulations of Henkels & McCoy PEI and its customers.* Must have the ability to communicate clearly, listen and understand information through spoken words and sentences to ensure full comprehension of job duties, safety regulations, and other situations that may require an immediate response.* Perform routine maintenance on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.* Requires weekend, holiday, and/or overtime work.* Ability to maintain initiative to maintain the flow of work.* Ability to work under stress and with commitment to deadlines.* Ability to work as a team member.* Ability to work under pressure with time constraints in a changing environment.* Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions included but not limited to extreme temperatures (heat and cold), rain, sleet, snow, h and wet/humid conditions. Qualifications:* Previous work-related experience working on High Voltage Transmission line work 230 kV to 500 kV construction required.* Experience operator for large transmission line projects operating puller and tension equipment for 230 kV through 500 kV conductor installation.* Experience working heavy equipment for installation of double and triple bundle conductors.* Experienced operator in operating Sag Cats (D-8) to properly sag conductor bundles 230 kV through 500 kV lines* Experience in moving equipment from pull locations along Right A Way* High School diploma or equivalent is required.* Red Seal certification a plus * Valid Commercial Driver''s License Class “A”
