<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>FACILITIES MAINTENANCE LEADJob ID #: 8877Category: Facilities/General ServicesDivision: GAType: Reg Full-timeThe General Atomics (GA) group of companies is a world renowned leader in developing high-technology systems ranging from the nuclear fuel cycle to electromagnetic systems; remotely operated surveillance aircraft; airborne sensors; advanced electronic, wireless, and laser technologies; and biofuels.We currently have an exciting opportunity for aFacilities Maintenance Leadwithin our ASI Facilities Department.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Under minimal supervision this position coordinates and performs journeyman level repairs, troubleshooting and maintenance of office and building facilities systems, machinery and equipment.Oversees all maintenance disciplines such as Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning/Refrigeration, Carpentry, Plumbing, Production Equipment service and/or repair, Electrical and WeldingReviews operations of the facilities to ensure continuous operations. Schedules preventive maintenance of facilities, machinery and equipmentOversees inspections and troubleshooting to determine repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns of facilities, machinery, and equipmentPrepares monthly reports related to various activities of facilities maintenanceCoordinates job activities between work requestor, facilities maintenance staff, and contractor personnelFunctions in a leadership role and provides direction and guidance to less experienced staffMaintains inventory of stock material and orders equipment and supplies as neededSafely uses hand and power toolsResponsible for observing all laws, regulations and other applicable obligations whereverPerforms other duties as assigned or requireMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS, KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:Typically requires a high school diploma, a two-year technical degree or trade school equivalent, and seven or more years progressive experience in facilities maintenanceMust demonstrate an extensive understanding of facilities maintenance principles and conceptsMust have extensive knowledge of office and building facilities, machinery and equipment maintenance; and extensive knowledge of and discretion in safely operating hand and power tools and various types of maintenance equipmentMust be customer focused and possess: (1) a valid California driver’s license with a good driving record verified by the DMV; (2) ability to lift heavy objects up to 50 lbs.; (3) ability to read, understand and interpret blueprints, drawings, wiring diagrams, sketches, layouts, specifications and other mechanical drawings; (4) strong analytical ability to recognize deviations from accepted practice as well as evaluate, analyze and provide solutions to complex issues; (5) strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills to work with all levels of employees and to accurately communicate, document and report and direct the work of others; and (6) good knowledge of computer operations and applications pertinent to the fieldThe ability to work both independently and lead in a team environment is essential as is the ability to work extended hours as requiredGeneral Atomics (GA), and its affiliated companies, is one of the world
