Assures implementation and maintenance of departmental/hospital Policies, Procedures and Standards of Care. Assures all State and Federal laws are in compliance in areas of responsibility. And supervisesRNs, Surgical Technologists, Secretaries and other staff assigned to the area. This position reports to the Director, Surgical Services.Licensure/Certification Required: California RN, BLS and ACLS from the American Heart AssociationPreferred:CNOR, ASPANExperience Required: Minimum 5 years surgery and recovery roomPreferred: Previous leadership experience, previous special procedure/pain management experience and <?xml:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />previous orthopedic experience.Some Information About our Orthopedic Surgery Center: Twelve surgeons plus two Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation physicians who perform pain procedures (injections and some procedures done in the OR.) Two ORs and one pain room in our hospital-owned out-patient surgery center with orthopedic surgeries and pain procedures.. About 1,500 surgeries and over 3,000 pain procedures annually. Skills, Knowledge and Abilities Required:Ensures the delivery of quality patient care through the nursing process.Applies management theory and leadership styles as appropriate to situation.Facilitates teamwork and effective flow of ideas in assigned area.Provides for professional growth and development of staff.Controls expenditures to within division-wide budgeted amounts.HR Use Only:
