To learn more, visit theExplore Chevron website.Chevron is accepting online applications for the position of Environmental Specialist located in Richmond, CA through November 29, 2012 at 11:59 p.m. (Eastern Standard Time).Position Details: Overview:This position resides in the Richmond Team for Chevron''s Energy Technology Company''s (ETC) HES Operations Unit and primarily supports the Technology Centers in Richmond, California (RTC) and in Briarpark (BRP), Texas. RTC is located adjacent to the Richmond Refinery and houses over 1,250 employees and contractors with over 300 laboratories and testing bays. RTC is Chevron''s primary research facility, conducting ongoing research in product development for fuels, oils, lubricants and catalysts as well as process technology for refining. The HES Operations Unit provides health, environmental, and safety services to Chevron clients in Richmond, San Ramon, Houston, and satellite locations.This position provides air permitting expertise (BAAQMD) and direction for environmental projects at RTC. This position will also provide technical contributions on air permitting regulations and reporting requirements. Water regulation and reporting duties may also be required. The successful candidate will work with research, design, engineers, operations, maintenance and other technical personnel to assess the need for and secure applicable environmental operating permits and/or permit modifications. The successful candidate will also provide necessary training to clients; audit compliance with regulations, RTC site procedures and corporate policies; and assist in the development of work processes and procedures.Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:* Provides environmental regulatory and air permitting guidance to clients for research and development operations in Richmond.* Compiles applications and obtains air permits.* Collects, analyzes, and interprets emissions data. Identifies problems and uses critical analysis to develop alternatives and propose solutions.* Supports relationships with government/regulatory agencies and ensure that these relationships are being properly handled.* Supports compendium of environmental tasks, environmental manual and environmental procedures at RTC and provides client training in such.* Monitors emerging regulations and provides industry input to regulatory agencies.* Audits environmental compliance performance with existing regulatory obligations at RTC and provides feedback to clients on their operations.* Supports environmental aspects of emergency preparedness and response plans and procedures at RTC including agency reporting compliance and also serves as a Subject Matter expert for environmental reviews on Management of Change projects.* Support incident investigation and reporting process regarding spill and release events.* Supports preparation of annual SARA 313 TRI report for RTC, audits and assesses client operations to ensure that they are adequately addressed.* Prepares various other semi-annual and annual environmental compliance reports.* Acts as OE Process Advisor for Environmental Stewardship and keeps Environmental Stewardship Plan and accompanying Environmental Aspects Registers current.* Provide environmental support to Chevron''s Operational Excellence processes for Compliance Assurance, Environmental Stewardship, Legislative & Regulatory, Management of Change, Construction a
