<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Academia De Servicio De Tutoria of Sierra Sands will need after school Tutors for School Year 2012-2013.
Candidates must be capable of tutoring students grades K-12 in both Language Arts and Mathematics.Candidates MUST have at least a two-year Associates Degree and a background in Education either tutoring or substitute teaching as a minimum. Tutors must be able to work between the hours of 330pm and 730pm, M-F and between the hours of 845am and 1230pm on Saturdays. Saturdays are not required, but flexibility is important. We may also have some in-home tutoring opportunities that arise. An internet connection, a valid email address, and reliable transportation are required. Candidates will be working one-on-one with children in small groups of no more than 5 students per group. Communication skills and a strong commitment to the educational process is desired. You should feel confident about yourself and be able to motivate children to learn.
Tutors should be able to follow and give direction, and be very organized with all necessary paperwork. A Teaching Certification is not required, but is helpful. Bilingual Spanish/English skills are a plus. A Fingerprint check and Background check are required for working with children. There is a small fee associated with these checks, which must be completed before hire. Proof of a TB test and a formal resume are also required. Candidates should be able to commit for no less than 3 months.
Candidates will be assigned a tutoring schedule based on the available hours they submit. You will work with students 2 or 3 days a week. Most Sessions are from 1 1/2 hours long to 3 hours long with a short break in between.
All tutors will attend a training session before the program begins. Tutors will be asked to complete paperwork at each session, and to complete an Interim report on each child at 12-14 hrs and a Final progress report at approx 24-27 hrs of instruction.
