JOB SUMMARY:

<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Candidate performs routine technical work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in performing tasks in the area of a Oracle Database Administrator. Installs software, applies patches, manages file systems, creates users and groups, reviews log files, diagnoses and solves permissions issues, monitors performance and troubleshoots alerts from DoD, commercial, open source and local monitoring tools. Performs database failure analysis and recovery insures the consistency and integrity of multiple data bases. Supports database servers in a 24x7 data center. Assignments are given in terms of specific objectives to be accomplished. May coordinate the work of others who assist in specific assignments. Work is reviewed for accuracy of judgment in application of standards and specifications to ensure conformance to overall tasks objectives. This position is a Jacobs position and may be assigned to a teammate company DCS, eLe, NDTI.

Training and Experience Specify Years and Kind An AS degree in Information Technology or associated discipline plus 8 years of production Oracle DBA experience in Unix Sun Solaris environments, Veritas Cluster , NetBackup and SAN technology, and hands-on experience with backup and recovery scenarios and technologies. Experience providing 24x7 on-call support of large high availability production data bases. Ability to analyze and resolve Oracle systems software, cluster and data base issues from an Oracle systems DBA perspective. Demonstrated proficiency of troubleshooting techniques and detail-oriented problem diagnosis. Experienced in the installation, configuration, patching, upgrading, tuning and ongoing support of Oracle data base systems. Oracle Certified Associate or Professional is required. U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Secret Security Clearance required
