This position will order, schedule and ensure receipt of required materials; determine the part number and quantity of materials to be placed on order; schedule the timing of issuance and receipt of materials; maintain accurate inventory and schedule of records; and identify and resolve potential delays which may impact end item delivery. Provides solutions to problems involving unusual complexity. Conceives and plans projects involving the development of new approaches and methods to attain objectives. Directly assists Program Manager in meeting established material schedules and plans.Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):80% - Material Planner responsible for material plan generation and execution to support material requirements to meet or exceed program delivery schedules. This includes initiation, creation and current status for a Line of Balance Report. Perform monitoring and resolution of material nonconformance related activities, review of consumption data, identification of spare parts requirements, preparation of purchase requisitions, issuance of manufacturing planning to the shop floor and tracking materials through the build process. May participate in proposal planning activities. Works with Master Scheduling in the generation of detailed recovery schedules and provide schedule/material status to internal, external, and program management as required.10% - Coordinate shipping activities of end item deliverables to the customer.10% - Other tasks as assigned to support a specific program and/or Supply Chain/Material Management.Requirements:A Bachelor''s degree in an appropriate discipline and six (6) years of directly related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Demonstrated ability to analyze material consumption and project future trends required. Must demonstrate a good understanding of Material and Production Control and MRP. APICS training and/or certification is a plus. Must have good computer skills, i.e. PC, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), Microsoft Project and Internet Explorer. Strong verbal communication skills and the ability to operate effectively in a team environment are essential to success. Requires U.S. Citizenship, U.S. Permanent Residency, or other status as a U.S. Person.
