NoDivision Marketing Statement Black & Veatch Corporation is a leading global engineering, consulting, and construction company specializing in infrastructure development in the fields of energy, water, and information.Primary Purpose Lead Design Engineer for the hydro mechanical aspects of hydropower and hydraulic structures projects.Be responsible for hydromechanical rehabilitation projects from assessment through conceptual design, detail design including drawing and spec preparation to commissioning support.Technical Leadership for hydromechanical design work performed for important clients through ongoing B&V Hydropower engineering contracts.Interface with clients and perform and sell work in the hydromechanical area for those clients.Organize, prepare plan, coordinate and set an engineering team working on specific mechanical projectsDevelops, plans, coordinates and directs the engineering work for a major project, or several smaller, but complex projects, or for the design within a specific discipline. This includes work assignments, staffing, scheduling and reviewDevelops or evaluates plans/criteria or special analyses required in support of the engineering effort.Develops new or improved techniques or procedures for application in unique engineeringCoordinates the design of assigned systems or projects with involved B&V personnel and client management.Maintains engineering records, lists and reports as required to ensure compliance with the client''s schedule, adherence to the budget, adherence to procurement specification, or to ensure engineering problems are monitored and resolved.Supports continuous improvement efforts and the change management effects associated with the implementation of improvements.Principal Duties and Responsibilities Lead Design Engineer for the hydro mechanical aspects of hydropower and hydraulic structures projects.Lead turbine, pump and valve related projectsLead multi disciplinary teams in the performance of studies, drawings an specificationsMinimum Qualifications BS in Mechanical engineering, with a PE required. At least 10 years working on hydroelectric projects with significant experience in preparing drawing and specification packages to rehabilitate hydro power plants or for construction of new facilities.Should have been involved in construction of new or rehabilitation of hydropower projects.Should have solid experience interfacing with clients.10% - 20% travel required.Should have client satisfaction natural orientation.Preferred Job Qualifications Experience working on hydroelectric projects with significant experience in preparing drawing and specification packages to rehabilitate hydro power plants or for construction of new facilities.Involved in construction of new or rehabilitation of hydropower projectsSolid experience interfacing with clients
