May use NDT or other verification techniques including product/process auditing through hardware/data verification and Statistical Process Control (SPC) verification activities. May operate all inspection coordinate measuring equipment required to determine hardware compliance to specification.Essential Job Functions (Including % of Time for Each):25 % - Performs process inspection such as the verification of identification, laboratory acceptance of raw materials, lay-up of fabric and metal surfaces, application of resins, oxidizer grinding, propellant blending, casting, curing, machining, restriction, final assembly and performance testing. Performs non-destructive testing/inspection (NDT Certification) such as ultrasonic, eddy current, magnetic particle, penetrant, alcohol wipe and leak detection. Performs process electrical inspection and certfied (AWS) weld inspection.35 % - Performs dimensional inspections of linear, angular, and positional characteristics in two or more planes by use of precision measuring instruments, surface plate set-ups, electronic and optical equipment, borescope, etc. Performs layouts and makes set-ups requiring the utilization and improvisation of inspection equipment. May use handling devices and operate handling equipment to support inspection.10% - Inspects all types of metallic and non-metallic parts and assemblies. Performs inspection of material before, during and after heat treating.10% - May inspect packing and shipping of components, motors, igniters and various explosive items. Works in accordance with quality control standards and instructions and prepares documentation, i.e., appropriate stamps and related tags as required.10% - Inspects in-house fabricated and supplier hardware for conformance to specification tolerance utilizing any required gages and special equipment. Performs layout on castings and forgings. May be required to perform all types of complex set ups and inspection operations with a minimum of assistance or supervision.10% - May provide technical and developmental Quality support to Engineering in relationship to the process disciplines of weld inspections as it directly relates to Aerojet''s Quality/Customer requirements.Requirements:High school diploma or equivalent and two (2) years directly related experience and ASME Y14.5 Certification, or six ()6 years of demonstrated GD&T and /or dimensional inpsection experience.Ability to read, write, use a computer, read engineering drawsings, perform mathmematics in suppor of job requirements and use of standard measuring instruments (SMI). Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Security Clearance at the appropriate level (U.S. Citizenship required).
