<tr><td valign="top" width="450"><b>Purpose In this high impact and critical role, you will provide technical leadership and supervision for a small team of energy advisors for the achievement of SMUDs energy efficiency goals. You and your team will accomplish this by providing a high level of support to SMUDs commercial customers in the implementation of energy efficiency projects at their facilities. Such projects may encompass a wide variety of systems and measures including heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning HVAC systems, lighting systems, controls systems and strategies, commercial and industrial processes, refrigeration systems, motors, and others.
Essential Functions  Provide supervision, guidance, direction and development to a group of technical staff engaged in commercial energy auditing and analysis. You will monitor work performance, provide feedback, and evaluate staff.
Manage the Custom Retrofit Program to ensure the achievement of Program energy savings goals and metrics are attained within the prescribed budget. Develop the annual program goals and budgets, monitor and report monthly achievements.
Provide specialized and technical expertise for energy efficient retrofits and for the operation of commercial and industrial systems and equipment, including HVAC, refrigeration, building systems, industrial processes, and other systems.
Conduct technical studies of HVAC systems, refrigeration systems, industrial processes and other mechanical systems by determining the optimal energy efficiency levels in commercial and industrial buildings and facilities, including project life cycle costs, mechanical and building systems and equipment design and specification technical proposals and equipment specifications monitoring, communicating and overseeing the resolution of project technical issues and reviewing and approving work performed by others.
Plan, coordinate, guide, review and conduct work activities associated with department internal/external projects in accordance with established task objectives and schedules as outlined in project plans or contracts.
Supervise the activities of contractors, technical consultants and staff and monitor their activities and work products for adequacy and compliance with contract terms and related project schedules and milestones.
Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction with programs and services by preparing and reviewing reports, calculations and analyses, designs, contracts, cost estimates, educational and factual materials and oral presentations conveying technical data promoting and marketing SMUD programs and answering questions and providing solutions, recommendations and training for customers, consumers, contractors, vendors and trade allies and the Board of Directors, staff and management.
Maintain knowledge of current practices and codes in mechanical systems design, including state-of-the-art and emerging technologies with potential application for SMUD and customer projects and programs.
Perform other related duties as required.
